Fast ForWord by Scientific Learning™

Based on more than 30 years of research, Fast ForWord® is an online game-based intervention that dramatically improves language and reading achievement. Fast ForWord is designed for learners working at, above or below grade level, and it is also appropriate for learners with a range of clinical needs. 

Fast ForWord is different from other interventions because it strengthens the key pathways in the brain that help children learn, so they can pay closer attention to their teachers, absorb information faster, and remember what they are taught.

By building cognitive skills in the areas of memory, attention, processing, and sequencing, learners can realize achievement gains of up to two years in as little as three months and maintain an accelerated rate of learning even after the programs end. Reading Assistant by Scientific Learning™

The Reading Assistant online reading program provides a reading coach for every student - anytime, anywhere! With Reading Assistant, learners can preview vocabulary, listen to a modeled fluent reading of a passage, and read the passage orally. Through its speech recognition technology, Reading Assistant “listens” to each student as he or she reads aloud. It then provides guided oral reading support through real-time corrective feedback at the moment it is most effective, allowing the student to self-correct and learn from errors. Clickable glossary words with definitions build vocabulary, and “Think About It” questions and quizzes at the end of each selection help strengthen comprehension.

The Reading Assistant program combines advanced speech recognition technology with research-based reading instruction to help students strengthen their reading fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.

Individualized and Differentiated

The Reading Assistant program features a range of reading levels to support readers at any age or reading level. Students of diverse ages and ability levels can benefit, including struggling readers, and more advanced readers who are reading at or above grade level.

Reading Assistant is the only online reading software that uses speech recognition technology to “listen” to students as they read out loud, intervene when the student needs help, and automatically score students’ oral reading. Online customized programs are available from any computer which respond to the child’s performance in real time, adjusting to their needs instantly.

Easy to Use

Online access makes the program easy to implement from any computer online. Students can see their own progress and monitor their own improvement on reading selections. Providers can use data to determine students’ areas of need regarding comprehension, fluency, etc.

iLs is a music-based, multi-sensory program for improving brain function. It is an enjoyable activity to improve brain integration, and quality of life. iLs offers a ‘boot camp’ for your brain.

How Does Integrated Listening Systems (iLs™) Therapy Work?

iLs programs include acoustically modified classical music with frequencies correlated to certain brain functions. The music is listened to with special headphones, and while listening, the user engages in specific exercises that maximize brain integration. 

iLs is based on the fact that we can change our brain – we can essentially re-wire it through specific and repeated stimulation, a concept known as neuroplasticityiLs trains for brain/body integration through a staged approach, starting with the fundamentals of sensory integration and then extending through more complex cognitive functions.

iLs is a music-based multi-sensory program for improving brain function. It is an enjoyable activity, or “exercise,” which can be customized for all ages and skill levels for implementation. iLs programs improve brain integration. The result is that you gain confidence as you acquire new skills, and you are also challenged to improve and to meet the new levels of difficulty.  As you continue this training process, your fundamental ability to process information improves. With improved regulation and processing, our ability to focus, think, and engage successfully in social situations also improves.
